Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC) is a type of cellulose ether that is derived from cellulose, a natural polymer found in the cell walls of plants. Similar to Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC), MHEC is chemically modified to introduce both methyl and hydroxyethyl groups onto the cellulose backbone. This modification enhances its water solubility and other properties, making it useful in various industrial applications.
As a self-leveling mortar, fluidity is one of the main indicators to evaluate the self-leveling performance. Under the premise of ensuring the rules of mortar composition, the fluidity of mortar can be adjusted by changing the content of fiber HPMC. However, too high content will reduce the fluidity of mortar, so the amount of cellulose ether should be controlled within a reasonable range.
Factors such as air temperature, temperature and wind pressure will affect the volatilization rate of moisture in cement mortar and gypsum-based products. Therefore, in different seasons, the water retention effect of the same amount of HPMC is different.
